City Museum Announces New Frights & Holiday Magic for 2025

Fire acts, sword swallowers, séances, Santa’s Workshop, and more arrive this fall and winter in St. Louis’ most unusual museum.

ST. LOUIS, Aug. 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — This October, City Museum invites you to get weird after dark with Fright at the Museum, returning with brand-new thrills from October 1-26. The wildly creative, slightly spooky spectacular features live shows every day, including all-new sideshow acts and eerie experiences that can only happen inside the walls of one of the most unique museums in the world.

New This Year:

  • A Death-Defying Fire Act: Watch flames fly in our brand-new fire performance that lights up the night safely, but with serious sizzle.
  • Sword Swallowing Stunt Show: Prepare to cringe and cheer as our newest sideshow performer swallows steel with jaw-dropping precision.
  • Live Séance Experience: Step into a parlor of the past where a medium attempts to contact spirits in a fully immersive theatrical séance.
  • Special Exhibit: Robert Wadlow, The Gentle Giant: Meet the legend who once sold shoes in this very building. Known as the tallest man who ever lived, Wadlow worked for the International Shoe Company, now home to City Museum.

“City Museum is always transforming, and Fright at the Museum is one of the most exciting times to visit,” said Katy Enrique, Director of Sales & Marketing. “This year’s new acts and exhibits tap into the bizarre and brilliant, just like us.”

Then, the Museum Turns from Frights to Festivities:
Right after the last pumpkin fades, City Museum flips the switch for Weirdly Wonderful Holidays, running November 28January 4. This family-friendly holiday takeover fills all four floors (and beyond) with dazzling lights, whimsical décor, and seasonal surprises:

  • Santa’s Workshop: Meet a working Santa crafting in his 4th floor shop.
  • Stories with Mrs. Claus: Cozy up for festive tales told by the First Lady of the North Pole.
  • Family-Friendly New Year’s Eve Balloon Drop: Ring in 2026 early with music, laughter, and thousands of balloons floating from the ceiling.
